When a flower is opening up, the whole world is opening up. When a child is coming into the world, the whole cosmos is coming into the world together with him. These are the sayings ancient thinkers used to pronounce. We don't forget this truth either. We would like the growing generation to love, to decorate our common home with new achievements of Culture, Spirituality and Mind. We and our children are eager to meet every coming day with hope of happiness, with faith in a better future!

1970-s... This is an old small basement in Krasnogorsk city 2 km far from Moscow, where sounds of music and children's voices are coming from... This is exactly the place where Children's Choral Studio under the leadership of Helen Belokhvostikova was founded in 1974. It should be noted that this basement was situated in Palace of Culture of Krasnogorsky Mechanical Plant. Remember this date. This is the starting point of our history!

1980-s... The Choral Studio is celebrating a holiday... We have moved into a new beautiful Palace of Culture 'Podmoscovie/Moscow Region'. A new stage in creative life of the Studio has started! In 1987 under the leadership of Margaret Baranova the Studio was given the Honorary title of 'Exemplary Children's Chorus' for a real concert activity. The Studio started to be called 'The Scarlet Sails'.

1990-s... This is a new page of our history book. On the initiative of 'Podmoscovie's leadership and with backing of the Municipal Culture Department and George Struve, 'The Scarlet Sails' was given the status of a choral school.

Nowdays in the third millenium the life of 'Scarlet Sails' is full of creative musical work. 210 boys and girls are included in choral singing and playing different musical instruments. The concert chorus 'Scarlet Sails' is one of the most famous children's choruses in Russia. We are proud of having become one of the prizewinners of the World Festival 'Art for Health of Children in Healthy World', the winner in the All-Russian Open Contest of Grants in Social Sphere 'New Day' in 2000, the First prizewinner of the World Choral Festival in Japan, the First Prizewinner and the Holder of the Special prize of the jury of the International Children's Creative work Festival 'Triumph-2002' in France. 'The Scarlet Sails' are taking an active part in a Social Educational programme 'Revival and Development of Russian Singing Culture'.
